Parent Study: Y-CAT STUDY

The EASY research study is a renewal study using what was developed and found in the Youth Computerized Adaptive Test (YCAT) Study, which was a study to develop, test, and apply a new computerized test to measure the severity of depression, anxiety, mania, disruptive behavior, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders in children and adolescents aimed at improving psychiatric screenings.
CAT or Computerized Adaptive Tests are tests which adapt to the reponses by the individuals taking them. They are aimed to increase the precision and reduce the burden of the quantity of questions administered.

The EASY study will take the tested CAT scale administered during YCAT and use them in a psychiatric emergency department setting to test the effectiveness of the scales in assessing suicidality of adolescents in an emergency room setting.
